PAUL MERTON AND SUKI WEBSTER'S IMPROV SHOW ★★★★

Enjoyable improvised comedy hosted with warmth and flair by Paul Merton and Suki Webster, alongside Mike McShane and Sally Hodgkiss, with Kirsty Newton adding keyboard accompaniment and conducting games.

We are quickly drawn into the fun as an all-ages audience relaxes, laughs and supplies suggestions. A simple kettle inspires flights of fancy involving Russell Hobbs and Dr Morphy Richards, while Paul has everyone roaring as he interprets the mimed antics of his fellow performers, guided around by audience volunteer Stephen, to unravel an increasingly absurd job title. Tiger dressage – but on horses – culminates in Paul’s wonderfully silly poem Dressaging Tigers.

There is delightful spontaneity throughout, with the consummate performers turning audience suggestions into inventive comic moments. Undemanding, inclusive and hugely enjoyable, this quality improv show appeals across the generations.
