LIANNA HOLSTON: Haha, Oh God 2.0 ★★★★

Such a shame that a short early run meant no award panellists and few movers and shakers discovered Lianna Holston’s brilliantly high-energy show. This quirky, articulate American improviser and stand-up is already delighting small audiences at London new-material nights, and now on the Edinburgh Fringe. Don’t say Roxy didn’t give you the heads-up: look out for her near you, or at the 2027 Fringe.

Lianna’s story is both hilarious and unexpectedly tender. At 30, she remains a virgin who has rarely even kissed, despite years of dating, including one man who promptly left for Australia.

Her honesty about being a female incel and accidentally entering the manosphere brings shame, anger, tears and exasperation as she navigates feeling stuck in limbo. A wonderfully entertaining message emerges: whether you were a late bloomer or are suffering fomo, you are not alone. Quirky, genuine and hugely energetic, this is a talent to watch. Virgins walk among us.
