LOU WALL: Breaking the Fifth Wall

4.5 stars ~

Monkey Barrel, Edinburgh Fringe ~

Such a high energy and clever show with numerous twists and turns, so you never quite know what to believe. Which is actually the premise.

Lou Wall says she’s been lying all her life, but actually has she?  Is she a teller of tall tales or not, indeed what is the ultimate truth?  Baffled and surprised you will be, but in such a fun way.

The rolling dialogue on the main theme has numerous digressions to keep her enthusiastic audience delightedly guessing.  Because there is just the one theme, it would of course be inappropriate to highlight some of the funniest moments that leave her bemused audience guffawing. With masses of multimedia going on, with images, music and sounds hitting fast, sharpen your quick wits to keep track.  Importantly make sure you can see, so not too far back and not behind the pillar! Breaking the Fifth Wall is in a similar style but rather different to Lou's show last year, plus she is more at home now with what she does, making it playfully relaxed and mountains of fun, despite a smidge of poetry and mentions of therapy!Such a really entertaining show that stays happily with you is always a plus, and the audience adored it and all left the small room (too small to fit everyone hoping to see it in, so buy your ticket fast) chatting animatedly about their experience, with huge smiles on their faces.  A not-to-be-missed 4.5star of quick-witted delight.
